Marc Muniesa has signed a four year contract to stay at the Britannia Stadium.
The 23-year-old Spanish defender now has a contract up to the summer of 2019.
The former Barcelona player arrived in Staffordshire two years ago on a free transfer and has since made 39 appearances for the Potters.
Muniesa wrote on his Facebook account: ‘I’m very happy to announce that I will be Potter for the next four years. I’m very proud to be part of this big family.’
The Spanish youngster has represented his country at under-21 level and is set to start in the heart of the Potters defence this weekend against Liverpool in this season’s curtain raiser.
