Mama Mia Not Again

Fan favourite Mama Sidibe has suffered another setback to his battle for fitness during training at Clayton Wood this morning.

31-year-old Big Mama, who had spells at Swansea and Gillingham, was forced into the background for the past five and half months due to a serious injury that needed operating on. But the determined Malian wasn`t going to give up and appeared to be progressing well, scoring for the reserves in a 2-1 win over Burton on Tuesday night.

However, today hasn`t been the best of days for Sidibe as he was injured during training, although the club have not confirmed the nature of the problem.

Defender Ryan Shotton posted on his Twitter page: ‘Mama I can’t have enough sympathy for you son, much love.” He added: “It is his Achilles again yeah, not a good day for all of us.’

A spokesman for the club has said: ‘Mamady did pick up an injury this morning and finished training early.

‘We are awaiting scans to discover the extent of the injury. We do not want to speculate until we have the results of those.’

This was the last thing that the big striker needed and will be very disappointed that he won`t be able to make his return as soon as he had hoped.
