Liam Lawrence has topped the Vital Stoke player of the season poll by a massive margin, taking 63% of the votes.

The former Sunderland midfielder joined the Potters on loan last season and made his move permanent in January 2007. Since then he has made sure that he is the number one choice in midfield and has notched up 15 goals so far this season.

Intriguingly, Steve Simonsen came second with 12% of the vote, despite having fallen out of favour with Tony Pulis and having to play second fiddle to new loan keeper, Carlo Nash. Ricardo Fuller took third place with Stoke’s newest England international, Ryan Shawcross in fourth.
