Earlier this week, Eamonn Moore of Vital Blackpool exchanged a pre-match Q&A with us ahead of yesterday`s fixture. Today he exchanges his thoughts on the match following his Tangerines` win at The Britannia Stadium. You can view my comments by clicking here.

EAMONN MOORE: Stoke went into the game as favourites, but as we’ve shown time and time again, we have scant regard for reputations. We have a wonderful team ethic, ethos and work rate, and that was illustrated in abundance yesterday afternoon. Yes, we rode our luck a bit at times, but there’s no doubt that we were the better team and played by far the better football, restricting Stoke to a god awful long ball game.

There are no easy games against Stoke, especially at the Britannia, so I think the result shows just how well we played. On the way home, Radio 5 were saying that we need to be taken seriously now… damn right we do! Six more wins (to get us to 40 points) will keep us up you’d imagine, but there’s still a long way to go and as good as yesterday’s performance and result was, we need to keep working and fighting until we’re 100% safe.

Looking back at my pre-match comments; pretty much everything I said turned out to be spot on, and I’m immensely proud after that display and result. As for Stoke though, a very bad day at the office, but perhaps a reminder for them that anyone can beat anyone in this division and that any progress they continue to make will be tempered and gradual. Tony Pulis has done a great job though and is well respected; hopefully the Stoke faithful will stick by him despite performances like that!

So yes, delight for us Seasiders tonight. 22 points on the board after 16 games is a brilliant start. Hopefully we can keep it going and continue to improve, much like Stoke!

Best of luck for the rest of the season lads, apart from a certain game in April!
