Tony Pulis has revealed that Kenwyne Jones took a pay cut to sign for the Potters and James Beattie has travelled to Glasgow after Rangers and the Potters agreed a transfer fee.

Pulis has lifted the lid on yesterday’s move from the Black Cats and told the media today that Kenwyne Jones had actually taken a pay cut to join the Potters and that the £8m payment to Sunderland will be spread evenly over the term of his four year contract.

Not a bad piece of business for the Potters and Mr Coates – but we all know that bookies are shrewd cookies when it comes to looking after their money.

We seem to have finally found another club that is prepared to take James Beattie off our hands – the only question remaining is ‘will he agree personal terms’?

It looked like a move to Fulham was on the cards for Beatts last January, but that was eventually halted after the striker demanded more money that he was on at Stoke.
