Stoke City have had three players selected for the upcoming Irish international friendly with Nigeria at the end of the month.

Liam Lawrence, Glenn Whelan and Stephen Kelly are all in the 25 man squad for the match at Craven Cottage on the 29th May.

Whilst Whelan and Kelly have both been capped in recent months, this is Liam’s first call-up to the first team squad since 2006, when he was an unused substitute against Sweden, and he’s fully earned the accolade with some great performances in the last few matches for the Potters since recovering from the infamous injury he sustained tripping over his dog early on in the season.

They may well find that there is a familiar face on the opposing side as well, with Seyi Olofinjana already selected for the Nigerian squad.
