Former Stoke player, Adrian Heath has been appointed the first manager of Stoke’s new sister US club, the Austin Aztex.

The new US team, which will start playing in the second tier of US soccer next year, is owned by Potters’ director, Phil Rawlins. It has strong links to the Potters and the intention is for the new club to be a feeder for talent coming to the UK. The team will also play in red and white strips and is the first fully professional soccer team in Austin, Texas.

Inchy, who was born and bred in Stoke-on-Trent, started his career as an apprentice at Stoke, making over 100 appearances for the Potters between 1979 and 1982, before leaving for Everton where he spent six years playing for the Merseyside club. In more recent times, he was manager (not very successfully) at Burnley before spells as assistant manager/coach at Sheffield United, Sunderland and Coventry City.
