It was being reported yesterday that Giannelli Imbula had agreed in principle to move to Monaco this summer and that progress was being made with the chase for Bruno Martins Indi.

L’Equipe reported that Imbula had agreed a ‘plum switch’ to the club and with that agreement they just need to find parity with Stoke on an actual fee.

The 24 year old moved to Stoke back in the January window of 2016 for a reported £18.3million from FC Porto and he has shown his talent in his 25 starting appearances and three substitute showings since then, returning two goals, but he last featured for us in March of last year.

They state the agreement with Monaco was made a week ago but their initial attempt at a loan with a view to a permanent deal was rejected.

As for last season’s loanee, Martins Indi, Sky Sports say we are now close to finally completing a deal for him with Porto.

As part of his loan deal last year we had the option to sign him on a fee rising to £13.4million and it was expected he would undergo a medical last month, but Stoke pulled out over the fee and Crystal Palace moved in to try and sign the 25 year old.

It’s said Porto agreed a fee with Palace but Martins Indi failed to turn up for their medical, so Stoke went back with a new offer Sky say was around the £7.52million mark and he’s now expected back at Stoke over the next few days for a medical and talks.
