Former Crewe Alex boss, Steve Holland has joined the Potters’ back room staff as the new Academy Manager.

Holland was sacked by the Alex back in November and replaced by Gudjon Thordarson, who was once manager at Stoke. He should be a valuable asset to the Potters’ youth structure as Crewe have long been seen as having one of the best run Academies in the football league.

The Potters have some grand plans to revitalise the training at all levels within the club and are currently putting together a planning application to purchase the Michelin training ground and build a new £5m training centre on the site.
