Danny Higginbotham has turned down a new contract offer from the Potters in the wake of two failed bids from Sunderland.

Whilst he should turn out for the club against Southampton (fitness permitting) it seems that Higgy could be looking for the move to be completed after it was reported that he has turned down an improved contract from Stoke City, which must pave the way for the captain to leave for Wearside in the next week.

The current offer stands at £2.4m with Graham Kavanagh thrown in and Danny’s best mate and colleague, Rory Delap, thinks he should be allowed to move to Delap’s former club. Pulis has stated publically that he does not want Higgy to leave, but may have to bow to pressure from the player himself and take the money.
