Higgy out for six months

Danny Higginbotham has been ruled out of a trip to Wembley and the remainder of the season after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury at the end of the Chelsea match last weekend.

He looked to fall awkwardly in the Chelsea penalty area but, despite a lengthy delay for treatment on the pitch, he seemed to be not too badly injured but scans have now confirmed the worst.

It’s a crying shame after the defender’s recent return to some great form, which included a match winning free-kick against the Hammers to seal our trip to Wembley and another goal in the 4-0 thrashing we gave Newcastle the following week.

It now looks like he’ll be out for at least six months with TP hoping that he might get him back into training for the start of the new season in August.
