Ricardo Fuller was the star of the show as Jamaica beat Sven Goran Eriksson’s Mexico team in a World Cup qualifier.

Ric’s 71st minute strike was enough to see off the Mexicans at Jamaica’s National Stadium and it was only the 2nd time in 19 attempts that the Reggae Boyz have got one over their opponents who are currently 92 places above them in the FIFA world rankings.

Demar Phillips also played as did Rudolph Austin who Stoke have now tried to sign twice but been kicked back each time by the UK immigration authorities in their attempt to secure him a work permit.

The win was even more remarkable as the Reggae Boyz are without a permanent coach after sacking Rene Simoes last month. New coach and former Reggae Boyz, John Barnes will take over the role on November 1st and was there to cast an eye over his new squad.

There is another World Cup qualifier against Honduras on Wednesday before Fuller can fly back to prepare for the visit of Spurs to the Brit on Sunday afternoon.
