World Cup winner and former Potters’ manager, Alan Ball has died aged 61 from a heart attack.

Although best known for winning his World Cup winner’s medal alongside Gordon Banks in 1966, he was Stoke City manager between 1989 and 1991. During his playing career he was at Blackpool, Everton, Arsenal and Southampton and also managed Blackpool, Portsmouth, Exeter, Manchester City and Southampton.
