Sky and ESPN have announced that they’ll be showing five Stoke matches on live TV over the first few months of the season.

That means the first of many rearranged matches for Potters’ fans to accommodate the broadcasters, but I suppose we should be comforted by the fact that they’re paying the clubs even more this season for the privilege, but that’s balanced by the certainty that our TV sports subscriptions will be on their way up to pay for it.

SKY TV matches
Stoke City v Aston Villa – Monday 13th September (8.00pm kick-off)

Stoke City v West Ham United – Saturday 18th September (12.45pm kick-off)

Newcastle United v Stoke City – Sunday 26th September (4.10pm kick-off)

Stoke City v Manchester United – Sunday 24th October (1.30pm kick-off)

ESPN matches
Stoke City v Liverpool – Saturday 13th November (5.30pm kick-off)

The only away tie that’s going to be shown is the fixture at St. James’ Park – welcome news to those fans who don’t fancy the long trek to the north-east for a late Sunday kick-off.
