On the eve of the FA Cup Semi-Final Rory Delap is set to sign a new 12 month rolling contract. The man in the middle of the media spotlight, will have a big part to play on Sunday and hopefully this new deal will boost those rocket launching arms.

The new deal would keep Delap at the club until the summer of 2013, by which time he will be 36. But the ageing midfielder has the backing of Tony Pulis who believes he fully deserves his new deal.

‘Rory deserves it. He has been a very big part of this club. It is not just what he does on the field. He gets his reward for what he does off the field.’

In the meantime Danish keeper Thomas Sorensen has fuelled speculation that he is set to leave the club in the summer. The experienced former Aston Villa keeper has lost his number one jersey to Asmir Begovic, but will play at Wembley on Sunday. Stoke do have the option to extend Sorensen`s contract to keep him for another year.
