Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross could be on his way out of the Britannia Stadium.

Several clubs are reported to be interested in the central defenders services before the transfer window smashes closed on the 31st August.

Queen`s Park Rangers are rumoured to be set to make the first move for the former England under-21 international, as their chase for Tottenham defender Michael Dawson has faltered.

A bid of around £10 million is set to be made by the London outfit, which Stoke will have to seriously consider.

Another London side, Tottenham Hotspur, are also rumoured to be in the market for Shawcross, but a move won`t be made for the 24-year-old until they can move possible target Michael Dawson on to pastures new.

With the interest in Shawcross growing, this may cause Shawcross` former club Manchester United to finally make a move to recapture their former trainee, as it is reported that the ‘Red Devils` have a clause in which they have the first option on Shawcross if he were to leave Stoke, and with the injury crisis at Old Trafford, this could be the ideal time for Sir Alex Ferguson to move for the Chester born defender.

It is still to be seen whether manager Tony Pulis is willing to let his club captain move on.
