Former Potters’ skipper, Clive Clarke is recovering in hospital after a heart attack during the Notts Forest vs Leicester cup tie on Tuesday night.

The 27 year old, who is on loan at Leicester from Sunderland, started his career at Stoke before leaving for West Ham in 2005 and collapsed during half time in the Carling Cup tie. It appears he suffered two heart attacks and had to be resuscitated by paramedics in the team’s dressing room. The match was later abandoned. But his agent, Gary Mellor, has now confirmed that he is now stable and improving and told BBC Radio Stoke: ‘Clive is sitting up and talking and he is going to have more tests at the hospital on Wednesday afternoon.’

It goes without saying that all Stoke fans will want to wish Clive a full and fast recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on the football pitch very soon.
