Charlie Adam scored one of the greatest premier league goals of all time to take the shine off Chelsea ‘s win at Stamford Bridge. Adam scored from 64 yards out with a super effort that stunned the would be champions to take all the plaudits and talking points after the game.

Stoke were under pressure from the get go against Chelsea, and were always going to be second best. But mourinho’s men were made to work hard for their 3 points.

Asmir Begovic pulled off some superb saves in the Stoke goal to deny Chelsea and the longer the game went on the more Chelsea supporters got frustrated, of course this just spurned Stoke on to frustrate them more.

But the break through was finally made by the home side to break Stoke’s stubborn resistance when a great move from the home side saw Cesc Frabregas slip behind the Potters defence Only for him to be brought down by Stoke star Phillip Wollscheid with no complaints from the Potters, as obvious a penalty as you will ever see. Easily dispatched by Eden Hazrad to put the Blues 1-0 up.

Chelsea continued to dominate the game but just before half time, a moment of pure magic from Charlie Adam, he picks up the ball inside his own half and takes a rather spectacular effort at goal from 64 yards away after seeing the Chelsea keeper off his line, the keeper scrambles back quickly and gets a touch on the ball but it’s not enough the ball flies into the back of the net, to go down as one of the greatest premier league goals of all time. HT CHELSEA 1-1 STOKE

The second half was really no different than the first with plenty of Chelsea pressure but Stoke showing true bottle and taking it back to them. Again Asmir Begovic was superb in goal for stoke keeping us in the match but it was poor decision from the Stoke keeper that allowed Chelsea their winner. A poor throw out from Begovic to Steven Nzonzi saw Chelsea steal the ball and with the greatest ease Loic Remy tapped home from a couple of yards out, just past the hour mark.

Stoke were not out of the match though with Nzonzi playing superb for the Potters in this early evening clash. His effort beating everyone but unfortunately coming off the post and out to deny Stoke an equaliser. After that the Potters were just played out of the match and Chelsea took all 3 points, but on that performance Chelsea know they have had one hell of a battle against Stoke.

It maybe 3 points for Chelsea but it was all about that goal from Charlie adam, with Adam himself claiming after the match that he ‘looks for it every game’ perhaps now keepers will be aware of him.

It is now 3 defeats on the spin for Stoke in the battle for 8th place but plenty of points still on offer. And on this performance they will certainly get more than 50 points this season.

COME ON STOKE!!!!!!!
