Marc Wilson is set to be out for up to 12 weeks following a knee medial ligament injury.

The Republic-of-Ireland international suffered the injury in the dying moments of Stoke`s defeat at Selhurst Park at the weekend.

Mark Hughes told Stoke City FC.com:
“Marc Wilson is unavailable. It`s not cruciate ligament injury thankfully but it`s the medial, so it`ll be 10-12 weeks, so it`s significant.

“It`ll near-on rule him out for the season now but hopefully he`ll get back. It`s one you have to manage correctly which we always do and it should be straightforward in terms of recovery. Luckily it`s not a cruciate which we feared when it happened.”

Wilson adds to Stoke`s defensive injury woes as Geoff Cameron and Ryan Shawcross are also side lined through injuries.

The injury could force the defender come midfielder to miss the European Championships with Ireland in France in the summer.
