Will Huth face a three match ban?

Robert Huth may be set for a three match ban after it’s alleged he struck Matthew Upson during the Potters’ 2-1 win today.

The second half incident happened off the ball and was not spotted by the referee, Martin Atkinson. Certainly most Stoke fans, including myself, were too far away to see what happened and we’ll have to wait for the TV highlights before we can make any judgement. If it’s true, then we can count ourselves lucky to have eleven men on the pitch by the end of the game.

As Atkinson didn’t see the incident, he can make a retrospective decision in his match report after viewing the TV footage which will mean that Huth faces a likely three match ban if he concludes he would have sent him off at the time.
