Former Stoke player, Wayne Thomas has been officially warned about his conduct after Stoke’s away match against Millwall back in February 2005.

The defender, who left the Potters for Burnley in June 2005 had already been found guilty in the courts of ‘assaulting a police officer’ in the tunnel at the end of the game in which the Potters won 1-0. He was given an 18 month suspended sentence in February 2006.

Thomas had not been named in the squad for the game, but had watched the match from the dug-out.

The FA had charged him with two breaches of FA rule E3: ‘abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official, and improper conduct’, but have now decided that the first charge should be dropped but proved the second one.
