Jonathan Walters has ended the speculation about his future and a potential move to Aston Villa by signing for Burnley yesterday evening.

The 33 year old has agreed a two year deal at Turf Moor after a fee of potentially £3million was agreed between both parties.

Turning 34 next September, the Republic of Ireland international has been with us for seven years having signed from Ipswich Town back in the summer of 2010 and he leaves having made 271 appearances for the club, scoring 62 times.

In 2016/17 he made 24 appearances.

A brief statement from the Official Website read.

‘The Club would like to place on record its thanks to Jon for his undoubted contribution over the past seven years and wish him all the best for the future.’
