Vital week for Potters

We start a vital week for the Potters’ automatic promotion prospects.

Stoke sit at the top of the table tonight, but whilst we’ve got to wait until Saturday and the most important game, so far, of the season with the visit of Bristol City to the Brit there are two other important games on Tuesday night that could dictate how the next three weeks go.

Hull City travel to Barnsley, whilst West Brom make the short trip to local rivals, Wolves. Whilst both matches are tricky games for the clubs challenging for promotion, a victory for either team will see them leapfrog Stoke.

Barnsley have been in fine home form this season, as Potters’ fans can testify after a nerve-wracking last minute 3-3 draw there on Boxing Day and don’t forget a certain London Premier League club that came a cropper at Oakwell in the FA Cup.

For once, all Stoke fans will be rooting for our Staffordshire rivals, Wolves in the match at Molineux. Wolves still stand a decent chance of reaching the play-offs and never want to miss the chance of getting one over on their Black Country rivals.

Two home wins tomorrow night will be just what the doctor ordered at the Brit – it’s surely about time that we had a little bit of luck as well?
