What a season it has been for Stoke City and Tony Pulis. There have been some magnificent matches and historical victories that will live in our memories forever! Alongside that there have been some unique displays of individual ability, and also some key performances of consistency. So Vital Stoke asked you, the fans, to vote for your Player of the Season, and here are the results:

Asmir Begovic………11%
Thomas Sorensen…….0%
Danny Higginbotham….0%
Ryan Shawcross……..2%
Andy Wilkinson……..0%
Glenn Whelan……….0%
Kenwyne Jones………4%
Ricardo Fuller……..2%
Jon Walters………..9%
Jermaine Pennant……34%
Matthew Etherington…4%
Rory Delap…………2%
Dean Whitehead……..0%
Robert Huth………..32%

An incredibly tight percentage of 2% of the vote separating the winner and the runner up, which funnily enough is a similar predicament to Britain`s Got Talent, but deservingly so, our award goes to winger Jermaine Pennant!!

Pennant has been sensational for us this season and has been the key piece to the playmaking jigsaw. Since joining us from Real Zaragoza, firstly on a four month loan and then an initial transfer fee of £1.725 million, he has cut up the oppositions` midfield and run them ragged down the wings. His finest work came when he scored his first goal for Stoke in a 4-0 win over Newcastle United in March, contributed an assist in the 5-0 defeat of Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup Semi-final, and scored his second goal of the season as we beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 a week later. A marvelous and mesmerizing man on the ball such as Jermaine, thoroughly deserves some recognition, and we believe this accolade will do the job.

Commiserations to Robert Huth, who equally has played an important part in this season`s campaign. He has literally been the Berlin Wall in defense, and has netted a few crackers too.

Keep up the good work guys and here`s to a brand new season of more success!
