According to skysports.com, Stoke are weighing up a move for Bolton`s left sided utility player Matty Taylor.

The 29 year-old has a year left on his contract at the Reebok Stadium and his experience coupled with his ability to play anywhere on the left could make him a genuine target for Pulis as he seeks out further additions following the arrival of Jonathan Woodgate earlier this week.

Full back Danny Higginbotham is out injured and Matthew Etherington is the only quality left winger at the club so a move for the former Portsmouth man would be welcome.

Taylor hasn`t been shy of striking from distance in his career, scoring a variety of long range wondergoals, most notably for Portsmouth against Sunderland and Everton when he bust the net from near the half way line!

The Oxford-born man has made 123 appearances for the Trotters, netting 23 goals.

He always seems to play rather well against us, it would be a good signing if only to stop him tearing us apart and costing us points!

Meanwhile, the Carlton Cole saga continues to run, a fee has been agreed but the striker is yet to agree personal terms – we’ll keep you posted on that one but it’s still looking hopeful.
