Stoke City should have a new striker in their ranks during the next few days, something which will please supporters following two disappointing home performances last week.
Many fans are arguing Vincent Pericard and Mama Sidibe are too similar to sustain a partnership for 40+ games, and Pulis is set to swoop.
The striker, said to be an alternative to the more rough and tumble Pericard and Sidibe, is unnamed, although a couple have featured more prominently than others.
Southampton’s Ricardo Fuller is one. Fuller has an enviable record at Championship level, and could follow Danny Higginbotham from St.Mary’s to Britannia.
Another is Wigan’s David Connolly, although the Latics striker is still said to be in manager Paul Jewell’s plans.
Other names being banded around are MK Don’s Izale McLeod, and Sheffield United’s Steve Kabba.
