Hot on the heels of the visit of the Saints to the Brit comes the visit of relegation threatened Scunthorpe United as the Tony Pulis ‘Hairy-Scary’ show has it’s second performance of the week.

This should be another 20,000 crowd as fans who purchased for Tuesday’s 3-2 win enjoy their freebie match ticket.

I shan’t even tempt fate by saying what will happen if we should win…..

Vital Quotes:

Big Mama Sidibe is glad that he’s finally managed to break his duck with the winning goal on Tuesday. He told the official site: ‘I have waited a very long time for that goal. It’s February now so it is a big relief. It is better than never though, and hopefully now I have got that one or two more are coming.

‘It has been more than six or seven months, and when you don’t score, you think that it may never come. Thankfully I scored though and I am very happy.’

Stoke City Team News:

Although Danny Pugh picked up his 10th yellow card of the season against Southampton, the ‘7 day rule’ means that he will be available for Friday night, but will miss the visit of Ipswich Town next Saturday. With no new injuries this week, Pulis will have the luxury of picking from the same squad as earlier in the week with the added bonus of Richard Cresswell’s return from suspension.

Player to watch: Ricardo Fuller

Fuller is living dangerously (along with Glenn Whelan) on nine yellow cards. The last thing we want is the influential striker missing for two games but the chances of him hanging on until the card amnesty in mid April are slim at best (some might say non-existent).

Scunthorpe Team News:

Scunthorpe defender Izzy Iriekpen returns after playing for the reserves in midweek following knee surgery.

Full-back Cliff Byrne is out with a leg injury, so on-loan Liverpool defender Jack Hobbs is expected to fill in.

Player to watch: Martin Paterson

Former Stoke Academy star, Martin Paterson makes his first visit to the Brit since signing for Scunny back at the start of the season. Pato has excelled at Glanford Park in his first season, something that Stoke fans always knew he would and has scored 12 goals in the process.
