Stoke City are reported to have turned down at least one offer from West Brom for defender, Carl Hoefkens.

The Baggies may now table a revised offer as the Potters seem to be looking for around £1m for the Belgium international.

Fans are expressing their unhappiness that the club are prepared to let such a prized asset as Carl go to a rival Championship club, but in the world of football everyone has his price, especially one who can walk away for nothing this time next year.

The club have already tried to get rid of Hoefkens to Belgium club, Bruges after the player failed to impress his new manager at the start of last season, but Carl turned down the offer and vowed to justify his place in the first team, which, to his credit, he has done.

As I’ve already said in a previous article this week, we hope that he stays at the Britannia as we can’t afford to let him go now. With new players always seemingly just around the corner – but then never arriving – the saying: ‘Jam tomorrow and jam yesterday – but never jam today.’ seems very apt for Stoke fans at present.
