Roundup of the current transfer news and rumours at Stoke City.

Carl Hoefkens may be on his way back to Belgium. It is reported that the Potters’ current ‘player of the season’ has created interest from FC Bruges. Hoefkens still has a vital role to play in the first team squad and it’s not believed that the club would let him go unless they could get a good replacement in before he left.

Although currently out after breaking his leg in his home debut for the Potters, Rory Delap has now been signed permanently from Sunderland.

As previously revealed on Vital Stoke, rumours still persist that Sam Bangoura could be on his way to either Dinamo Bucharest or FC Brussels. Stoke are very keen to sell the striker before the end of January, but would be prepared to send him out on loan if this did not prove possible.

The club is still hopeful of regaining the services of Andy Griffin and Lee Hendrie even though Portsmouth and Aston Villa have not yet indicated that they are prepared to let the players return to the Britannia Stadium.

Salif Diao and Patrik Berger are also still on the manager’s wanted list. Diao will complete the final game of his loan spell on Saturday with the visit of Wolves to the Brit. Berger would appear to be available, if another Premiership club does not put in a bid, as Villa have made it clear that he will not play for them again.
