Potters keeper Thomas Sorensen is set to sign a new contract with the club to prolong his stay for a further two years.

The Danish international signed a 3 year deal last summer and has since established himself as the number 1 keeper and become a cult hero in the process.

Speaking earlier on to day he said “We’ve more or less agreed the contract, I just need to sign it. It’s great that it’s sorted out and I can focus on the future here at Stoke because it looks very bright.’

The 33 year old will join Irishman Liam Lawrence and Glenn Whelan, and Jamaican Ricardo Fuller in signing a new deal. Meanwhile talks over a new contract for Ryan Shawcross are still ongoing.
