Even though the window has now closed, Stoke are still waiting for confirmation that they’ve managed to sign two new players.

Stoke are believed to have submitted the transfer paperwork for Tom Soares (Crystal Palace) and Michael Tonge (Sheffield United) before the midnight deadline, but are still waiting for official confirmation from the Premier League that they are now Potters players.

But they failed with a late bid for Henri Camara after Wigan failed to get players in that would allow the move to the Potteries to be completed.

Also, Cardiff proved resolute in their determination to keep Joe Ledley despite reports that the player was unhappy that he’d not been allowed to move to Stoke.

There was some good news as the club did manage to sign Danny Higginbotham from Sunderland on a three year deal.
