Stoke City have made their first deal of the summer with the signing of striker, Jon Parkin from Hull City.

The club have confirmed this evening that The Beast has now signed permanently for the Potters after a short but successful loan period at the start of the year.

The club have paid £275,000 for a three year contract which could rise to £450,000 with add-ons. Parkin had already indicated earlier in the week that a move to the Brit was on the cards amid speculation that Cardiff City were also interested, but the former Macclesfield Town player had said that he preferred a move which would allow him to stay in his home town of Barnsley.
