The City of Stoke-on-Trent is ready to bid farewell to two of its recent mainstays as Andy Wilkinson will bid farewell to Stoke City tonight in his testimonial as it will be the last fixture to take place at the ‘Britannia Stadium`.

Wilkinson has been forced to retire after picking up a career ending injury after he was struck in the face with the ball at Blackburn last season in the F.A. Cup.

The Stone born defender has undergo extensive tests both in Britain and Europe to try to elongate his career, but was finally told he had to hang up his boots this season after suffering from post-concussion syndrome, which effects his balance when he does high intensity exercise.

Wilkinson will celebrate and end his 15 year career at the Potteries outfit tonight with a testimonial match in which he will manage one side of past and present stars such as Ricardo Fuller, Mark Stein and Tuncay, whilst current gaffer Mark Hughes will take the reins of the other.

The game will also see the curtain brought down on the ‘Britannia Stadium` as it will be christening the ‘Bet365 Stadium` from next season.
