The Premier League have confirmed they will be giving additional advice to Stoke and fellow top flight clubs following the Paris attacks.

Additional security guidance will be given to the likes of the Potters ahead of this weekend`s return to Premiership action, and the Premier League will also later this week issue a statement to fans directly about what they can expect when it comes to the stepped up security procedures that will now come into place following yet more pointless terrorist attacks.

A Premier League spokesperson is quoted in the media today as saying:

‘We are actively engaged with our security advisors and the appropriate authorities, including the Home Office and senior representatives from the Police, to assess current security guidance to Premier League clubs. There is a club meeting later this week where a full security briefing will be given. Following that, further guidance will be issued to the clubs as well as a public statement so fans are fully aware of what to expect when arriving at stadiums.’

The very least I would imagine match day goers can expect is far more bag and personal pad down searches from stewards and officials ahead of entry to the ground, but hopefully the full public statement will explain all.
