Stoke City are interested in adding to their wide options as they look to acquire Manchester City`s Adam Johnson and Wolves` Michael Kightly.

Rumours suggest Stoke have enquired to Manchester City about taking England international Adam Johnson on a season long deal with a view to a permanent transfer.

The 25 year old is open to a move away from Eastlands in search of first team football which could help him regain his spot in the England international fold, reports suggest.

A stumbling block in the potential transfer is said to be that the Potters are looking for an agreed transfer price if they wanted to make the transfer permanent, but the two clubs are differing on the valuation of the Sunderland born winger.

It is also believed that Stoke have made contact with Wolverhampton Wanders` in a bid to bring Michael Kightly to the Potteries to provide competition in the wide positions.

The 26 year old winger is in the final year of his contract at Molineux and new Wolves` manager Stale Solbakken has admitted the club may look to cash in on the winger.

He told skyports.com “‘At the moment he’s part of the plans but he has one year left on his contract and this is the last period of time you can get serious money for him.

‘So we need to consider whether we do a good deal and get a good player coming in”

Stoke are reportedly ready to pounce as Tony Pulis looks to add to his attacking options.
