Stoke City are set to swoop for Benfica wonderkid Nelson Oliveria on a season long loan deal.

Mark Hughes` looks to make the previously rated £24 million striker his third summer acquisition since taking over at the Britannia Stadium.

Oliveria, who is a Portuguese international, has been in the Potteries with his representatives looking to tie up a fourth loan deal in as many seasons, having already had temporary stays at and Rio Ave, Pacos Ferreira and Deportivo la Courna.

The 21-year-old striker is highly rated at the Stadium of Light and was in the middle of huge transfer speculation from the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea last season who reportedly rated the forward at around £24 million.

Stoke have reportedly fought off competition from Premier League new boys Cardiff City to move into pole position for the youngster.
