Stoke’s keeper situation took a new twist today with the news that Marton Fulop had been recalled just three days after joining the Potters.

Sunderland have recalled their second reserve keeper after Darren Ward was injured. Fulop only joined the Potters last Friday and was on the bench for Stoke’s win over Ipswich the following day. He was expected to replace Steve Simonsen in goal for tonight’s match against Preston, but Tony Pulis had to make a quick change of plan and play the match at Deepdale without a reserve keeper after he had sent Russell Hoult out on loan to Notts County.

Reports are indicating that Pulis may have moved quickly to replace Fulop and appears to have clinched a deal to sign Wigan stopper, Carlo Nash on loan. An official announcement on Nash was expected from Stoke City this afternoon, but that has not yet been forthcoming.
Nash signed from Preston in the summer, but has failed to start a first team match.
