According to the media, it seems a done deal that Leon Cort will be joining the Potters from Crystal Palace very soon on a two and half year contract.

No news though from the Brit, but everyone else is reporting that Cort is joining the Potters on a two month loan, with a £1m transfer to be completed in January. Exactly how much the fee will finally be depends on whether Clint Hill decides to fill the gap in the Palace defence that Cort vacates.

Cort’s drop from down the Palace pecking order has been dramatic. After 37 appearances (and 7 goals) last season and 12 so far this season, it’s surprising that he suddenly appears surplus to requirements under the new Warnock regime. He didn’t play in last night’s match against Watford and many observers saw this as a definite sign that the 28 year old’s days at Selhurst Park were limited.
