Stoke Continue Waiting For That First Win

|

Stoke City travelled to Deepdale to face Preston North End in today’s late Championship kick-off.

Gary Rowett and Stoke continue to wait for the first win of the campaign though as we came out with a 2-2 draw and we did have to come from behind twice in the match, but the point was secured with Erik Pieters and Peter Crouch getting on the scoresheet.

Two points from three Championship games isn’t what people were hoping for and I dare say expecting given expectation levels went through the roof over the summer following Premier League relegation, but there was always going to be a bedding in period as after last season’s disappointment few clubs can ever completely erase those thoughts over a single summer.

The game did have positives though, and coming from behind twice should show a growing spirit and belief within the group and we’ll reap those rewards further down the line, but getting that first victory – just so it doesn’t become a thing and keep hanging around our neck – will be massive for everyone.
