In just 24 hours the transfer window will slam shut for 2010 but Stoke are still hoping to see several new faces appear at the Brit.

Eidur Gudjohnsen heads the list with Stoke chairman, Peter Coates, having confirmed that we have enquired about taking the 31 year old striker on loan from Monaco.

A deal seems to be edging closer for Portsmouth skipper Marc Wilson with Liam Lawrence and Dave Kitson being offered as bait with Pompey keen to boost their depleted squad without spending any money as their financial woes continue.

Another deal that may involve a player swap is Tuncay moving to Wigan with Hugo Rodallega arriving at the Brit. This has been rumoured for some time now, but Sunderland are also said to be keen on the Turkish international who is slipping rapidly down TP’s team-sheet and is likely to go if we can get the likes of Gudjohnsen in before 6pm tomorrow evening.

Another one rumoured to be on his way to the Brit is Spurs’ attacking midfielder Jermaine Jenas. Redknapp is said to have been told that someone has to go if he wants to bring a new face in and a season long loan to his best mate may therefore be good for both managers.

One player who seems to be be staying (whether he likes it or not) is reserve keeper, Asmir Begovic, after Stoke confirmed that they had rejected a bid from Chelsea. Blues’ boss, Carlo Ancelotti told the media after our defeat there on Saturday that ‘the transfer window was now closed’ as far as he was concerned.
