Stoke’s Marc Muniesa and Bojan Krkic – among the former Barcelona players at the club – have been linked with January transfer exits from the Potters.

Mark Hughes rates defender Muniesa highly but he’s been linked with a return to Spain with Real Betis according to the Mirror.

Hughes is aware the 24 year old – who has been troubled by injuries since his arrival in 2013 – is looking to play regularly and remains hopeful he’ll see his future at the bet365 Stadium.

‘Marc is really valued here and you understand why when you see the two performances he`s put in. He`s a guy who just gets on with his work, but clearly he wants an opportunity. He lost a lot of football through injuries in the early part of his career and playing week in, week out is important to him. We like to think we will be able to give him enough game time to allow him to be comfortable with his position here because we don`t want him to leave.’

If former Spanish U21 international defender Muniesa were to return to Spain with Real Betis it wouldn’t be too likely Betis would match the reported £3m asking price.

This report also concluded Bojan was ‘facing an uncertain future’ having been unable to hold down a place in the starting XI regularly under Hughes this season.

Stoke Loud and Proud has since claimed a ‘sizeable offer’ has been received from Middlesbrough for the 26 year old with it probably a bid Stoke wouldn’t be able to turn down for the former Barca forward.
