Ramadan Sobhi could well be staying in the Premier League in the new season, according to his agent Nader Shawky.

The 21-year-old who cost the Potters £5 million from Al Ahly in the summer of 2016 is reported to have had several offers from top flight English clubs, it’s just a question of who he wants to join.

There is also half a chance that the Egyptian could go back to Al Ahly, but he would prefer to stay in Europe so this opens up offers from the German, Italian and Spanish leagues.

Shawky told Egyptian radio station Mega FM: “Indeed there was contact with Al-Sheikh, but Ramadan prefers to continue in Europe. Although the player was offered to be paid in English pounds at the Red Castle, we aren’t looking for money.”

“He will return to Al Ahly only if he feels that he will receive game time to regain his confidence. He is still young and is still learning but the fans are rushing and should be patient.”

Sobhi played 27 times for the Potters last season and scored three goals, although one of them was against Rochdale in the league cup. He failed to produce the type of football that he is capable of.

Both player and agent are hoping to have a deal in place when Sobhi returns from World Cup duty with Egypt, he will be looking to produce his better stuff while he knows he is in the shop window.

Sobhi has won 19 caps for Egypt so far, scoring once.
