Brek Shea scored the only goal in USA`s CONCAF Gold Cup triumph.

The Stoke City midfielder made all the headlines by grabbing the only goal against Panama to help USA to their fifth Gold Cup victory after a 1-0 win in Chicago.

Shea, 23, got on the end of an Alejandro Bedoya cross to tap home from 2 yards after Landon Donovan couldn`t connect seconds before.

The victory and goal for the Texas born midfielder helps to prove that he is over his injury worries from last season which hampered the start of his Stoke career.

He joined the Potters last January from FC Dallas £2.5 million but only made a handful of appearances for the Staffordshire outfit.

Shea will now have a few days rest before joining up with the Potters for preseason training and hopefully impress new Stoke manager Mark Hughes in the process.
