Russell is player of the month

Stoke midfielder, Darel Russell has been named the ‘Powerade Championship player of the month’ for November.

It was a well deserved award for Russell (especially as Tony Pulis just missed out on the Manager of the Month award) after he scored twice in November against Palace and Hull. He beat off competition from Rob Earnshaw, Jon Stead and former Stoke player, Chris Iwelumo.

Interestingly, another former Stoke player, Kris Commons got the award for League 1, beating off yet another ex Stokie, Chris Greenacre.
