Roger East will be the man in the middle when Stoke visit Tim Sherwood`s Aston Villa at Villa Park this weekend.

East has refereed 9 times this season handing out 35 yellow cards and no red cards, at an average of 3.9 cards per game.

The Wiltshire County F.A. referee was promoted to the Premier League select group of referee`s in 2013.

East`s biggest fixture to date was the 2012 League One play-off final between Sheff Utd and Huddersfield at Wembley Stadium.

The Wiltshire official has officiated Stoke once so far this season. He was in charge of Stoke`s 2-0 home victory against West Brom. He handed out two yellow cards during the fixtures; both being handed out to Albion players.

The 49-year-old has only refereed Aston Villa once this season; their 1-0 away defeat against Swansea. He handed out five yellow cards during the fixture; four cards being handed out to Villa players.
