Yesterday evening Stoke City confirmed that Ramadan Sobhi had now signed a new long term contract with the club.

The 20 year old Egyptian winger joined Stoke from Al Ahly 12 months ago and was impressive in his maiden time in England, making 19 appearances in total with 17 of them coming in the Premier League, and Stoke have moved pretty quickly to tie down his long term future and now have his signature on a five year deal.

Speaking to the Official Website chief executive Tony Scholes explained.

‘There`s no doubting that Ramadan is an exciting young talent. The first year in a new league and it`s fair to say new culture is always going to be challenging for a player. However, Ramadan has adapted to the league and country very quickly and showed that he has enormous potential. We`re delighted to have secured him on a contract until at least 2022.’

The youngster was speaking himself after sealing the contract and he promised there was a lot more to come from him.

‘I received a friendly and good welcome from everyone at the Club, including my teammates and the management team in my first season. Thanks to the fans for the support they gave me throughout last season. I`m delighted to be signing this contract. I`m proud to be part of this Club and I`m determined to repay Stoke City for the faith they showed in me in signing me at just 19.’

He added.

‘Last season was good but I am confident that the best is yet to come.’
