Tony Pulis has said that as the transfer market has started moving, Potters fans should start to see more players coming to the Brit.

So far this season we’ve only had Dave Kitson, Seyi Olofinjana and Thomas Sorensen park their boots in the Stoke dressing room but there are still several players rumoured to be interesting the Potters’ boss and he told the Sentinel that he thinks that things will now start happening: ‘Being one of the smaller clubs – and that’s no disrespect to us – but I think once the bigger clubs start moving then the market tends to follow and things move on.’

Both Dean Whitehead and Danny Higginbotham are typical of those that have been linked to the Potters and with Sunderland having signed several players over the last few days they seem to be the sort of players that Pulis is referring to. Not surprisingly, with just over a week to go to the start of the season, both are still publicly pledging allegiance to their current club as they jostle for a first team place on Wearside.

Another player linked to the Potters is Benfica striker Ariza Makukula. It’s reported that both Hull and Stoke watched him score in a friendly against Paris St. Germain last week, but the Daily Mail say that Hull are no longer interested in the 27 year old Portuguese international, who was born in the Congo, leaving the way clear for Pulis should he be inclined to make a bid.
