Stoke manager Tony Pulis has urged the club to open contact negotiations with in-form winger Matty Etherington. The 28-year olds deal has two years to run and Pulis is desperate to secure his future with the Potters.

Etherington moved to the Brit in January 2009 and has been a revelation down the left hand side this season contributing 6 goals so far. He is also a safe bet to win the Potters Player of the Season and Pulis wants him rewarded.

Speaking to the Daily Star he said “We`re keen to get Matty`s new contract done. Hopefully were pushing on and getting closer. I spoke to Matty about it at the start of the week and we want it sorted”.

Matty will line up against his former club West Ham tomorrow as the Potters will look to condemn the Hammers to a sixth consecutive defeat in the league.
