Pulis: No one wants Bangoura

Stoke City manager, Tony Pulis has fired another salvo across Sammy Bangoura’s bows as he continues to attempt to get fit after his extended holiday.

It is widely believed that Bangoura’s pre-season absence was intended to assist in an early departure from the Potteries and to reduce any potential transfer fee. This appears to have backfired as Pulis has hinted that his ruse has probably persuaded any interested clubs that their money would be better spent elsewhere.

Pulis told the Sentinel: “What Sammy’s done in the summer has probably closed the door on a few deals abroad for him. But he has to realise that word of mouth in football soon spreads.”

Bangoura now needs to buckle down to some hard work and try and fight his way back into the team. If he does that then maybe his creditability will go up together with his transfer value. Certainly that seems to be his manager’s view:
“We have to get Bangoura fit and get his head around the fact he has to stay at Stoke. That is the best thing he can do and we will go from there. We have Sidibe, Pericard and Fuller and the young lad Rooney. We have good competition up there now and that’s pleasing.”
