Tony Pulis has admitted that the events on Saturday which saw the Potters possibly lose their two main strikers is a big blow.

Ricardo Fuller saw red and Mamady Sidibe was stretchered off in Saturday’s poor goalless draw at the Brit.

TV replays seemed to confirm that Fuller deserved his second red card of the season after elbowing Luton’s Sol Davis in the face and is likely to miss another three games as a result.

Sidibe was the victim of Davis’ retaliation ten minutes later in a vicious and dangerous sliding tackle but survived serious injury until he collided with a Luton goalpost in the second half and had to be carried off. He is set to have a scan on Monday.

With Vincent Pericard already out through injury this could leave Pulis with just Adam Rooney up front, who has not yet started a match this season, for the big game against table-topping Derby County at Pride Park on Wednesday.

Pulis has already been hunting for another striker on loan after failing to land one during the January transfer window. He told the official site that he ‘will be on the phone first thing Monday morning looking to get someone in’.
